Guided by values that have been instilled by over three decades of family ownership, our dedicated staff members are ready to help current and prospective residents feel right at home.
Previously known as The Spinney Group, we have deep roots in New York’s Capital Region. Founded over 25 years ago by Rex Ruthman and Edward Feinberg, the word “spinney” was chosen because it means a small area of trees and bushes, nodding to the pastoral setting offered by our residential properties.
“Spinney” has also become synonymous with the Active Adult (55+) lifestyle in the Capital Region, thanks to the popularity of our Active Adult communities, The Spinney at Pond View and The Spinney at Van Dyke. The use of the word “spinney” in the names of these properties embraces our family heritage and pays homage to our founders.
Now in its second generation of family ownership, our company has expanded in new ways that allow us to better serve the neighborhoods in which we operate. In 2023, we changed our parent company name to LiveWell Group, which better reflects our variety of offerings and conveys our core mission: to help communities Live Well.
