Watch “La La Land”, a musical about finding love and success in Hollywood at the Bethlehem Public Library (located at 451 Delaware Avenue in Delmar).

A.A.R.P. Smart Driving Course

Wednesday, May 17th, 9AM – 4PM

(with break for lunch)

Cost: $20/person for AARP members, $25/person for non-members* payable by check only

Course will take place at Bethlehem Town Hall, located at 445 Delaware Avenue in Delmar.  Reservations begin at 8:30AM, May 1st, in person only Bethlehem Town Hall. Space permitting, phone reservations accepted on the subsequent days

Coffee & Conversation: JFK and Camelot

Friday, May 19th, 1-3PM

Marking what would have been the 100th birthday of John F. Kennedy, Professor Eric Martell will discuss his presidency and the “Camelot” years.  Hour-long program is followed by coffee hour featuring beverages and light refreshments.  Event takes place at the Bethlehem Public Library (located at 451 Delaware Avenue in Delmar).

Strawberry Fields Farm Preserve Opening

Saturday, May 20th, 10AM

The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy announces the first NEW preserve opening of its 25th Anniversary year.  This preserve will quickly become a favorite for botanists and wildlife enthusiasts.  Over 300 species of vascular plants have been identified, over 100 bird species, and uncounted other members of the food chain.  Please join the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy for a FREE Grand Opening Ceremony and enjoy guided tours of the new trails!  The Strawberry Fields Farm Preserve is located at 240 Cranes Hollow Road in Amsterdam.

Senior Health & Fitness Day

Wednesday, May 31st, 9AM – 3PM* (see below)

Add a spring to your step while exploring health and fitness opportunities in the Town of Bethlehem!:


9AM – 12PM: BETHLEHEM YMCA – Check out regularly offered classes.  Representatives from several health-related organizations will be available in the lobby for more information


1PM – 2PM: NATURE WALK, FIVE RIVERS – Kitty Rush, Staff Environmental Educator, will teach the unique history of bird study at the preserve, focusing on blue birds and the role of local members of our community as “Citizen Scientist”.


3PM: RAIL TRAIL – Meet at Adams Street, public parking adjacent to Peter Harris in Delmar.  Susan Leath, Town Historian, will give the history of the trail and a representative from the Mohawk Land Conservancy will update on the trail progress and linkage and the upcoming Delaware Avenue Enhancement Project.
