Nature Walking and Star Gazing
Tuesday, October 6th, 5:30 – 9PM

Celebrate the official opening of the walking trail of Colonial Acres Golf Course and Recreation/Nature Discovery Park.  The walk will take place from 5:30-6:30PM.  All walkers, runners, and dogs are welcomed.  From 7PM – 9PM there will be a guided star gazing presentation.  Please meet in the Colonial Acres Golf Course Parking Lot.  Hot beverages and baked goods will be supplied by the students of the Glenmont Job Corp.

Lunch with Neighbors
Wednesday, October 7th, 11:30AM

This month’s lunch will take place on Wednesday, October 7th.  The location of the lunch is Sam’s Italian American Restaurant located at 125 Southern Blvd in Albany.  If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Wendi at wgross11@optonline.netor by calling (518) 512-3298.

Trip to Indian Ladder Farm
Tuesday, October 13th, 10AM

Welcome fall with a trip to Indian Ladder Farm for apple and pumpkin picking!  Once all of your goodies have been acquired, everyone can have lunch together at the Yellow Rock Café!  RSVP to Wendi.

SUNY Albany Writers Seminar
Thursday, October 22nd, 4:15PM

Seminar with Mark Bittman, NY Times Columnist Food Writer for his best-selling book How to Cook Everything.  Located at SUNY Albany Recital Hall Performing Arts Center (phone: 442-5620).

Curtain Call Theater
The Night Alive by Conor McPherson running 10/16 – 11/7.  There are Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3PM.  $24/ticket with no assigned seats.

Challenger Center Museum of Innovation and Science
Entrance fee of $10.  Open Saturdays and Sundays from 2 – 3PM.

Capital Reperatory Theater by Proctor’s
4000 Miles by Amy Herzog showing 9/29 – 10/18.  There are matinees Saturday, October 3rdat 3PM and Sunday, October 4th at 2PM.  Seats are $50 on the center and $30 on the side.

Movies with Neighbors
Many of you expressed interest in going to the movies.  Would someone be willing to take charge in planning a trip to the Spectrum?  It is difficult for Wendi to plan movies in advance not knowing how long a particular movie will remain in the theater or resident’s interest.
